Default timed rake vs %/max rate

Assume game conditions (player quality, hands/hr, etc..) are the same. Which game would you prefer to play A) 1-3 nl with $300 max buy-in with rake %10 max $5 and $1 BBJ drop or B) 1-2 nl with $300 max buy-in with a timed rake of $6/30 minutes.

Seems like percent would be the best bet unless you play a really laggy game, which wouldn't be recomended at 1/3.

Rake over time at these limits every time. Most of the pots aren't max raked at 1/2 unless they're really big.

This depends almost entirely on your style. The two methods are similar in total rake taken, but tighter players pay less rake when rake is by pot than by time. If you're a pot-stealer, a time charge might be better for you. $12/hr time is one large (maxrake) and two medium pots ($2 rake plus jackpot) per hour. If you're more aggressive than that, time is good.

Plus the rake at least gives the casino a reason to push the dealer a bit to keep the game moving. I have played at some NL tables where they take the charge for time, and the proceed to break out new decks, count out their chip trays etc.
