Why does the fact that he is way too loose mean that he isn't tricky, or that he won't use way too much FPS?

I don't get it. I'm all for VBing the fishies to death, but I check this turn all day long against villains like this at 200NL, and at 600NL the villains are probably WAY more frisky.

These are genuine questions, by the way, I'm not being sarcastic.

He's too stupid to have FPS. I think you need to know standard lines to have FPS. He's unlikely to be a thinking player IMO. I'd definately bet turn, but I don't seem him pushing with anything you beat here except maybe KQ with the Q of hearts. Foldit.

All the people who say bet the turn know that villian doesn't go to showdown much, despite limping in a lot PF, and that this is a 3-bet pot PF - right? Checking the turn is pretty much standard as far as I'm concerned. That's not to say that betting is terrible, there are a lot of factors that can come into it, but I can't see how anyone can see this as an autobet.

I ended up mucking to his raise. I talked it over with a few of my friends and they said that in situations like these we should only bet the turn if we're prepared to call an AI cr. Since in this situation I can't really justify a call I should have checked behind. Something like 1/4th of the time another heart falls and the value of inducing when a blank hits is greater than what I lose when a 4th heart does come down and I have to fold to a bet. There's also some situations where a 4th heart falls and I could still call. which adds more value to a check.

Just my thoughts on the hand, anyone agree/disagree with this line of thinking? I think it's important to play hands like these correctly so it's worth talking about.

You have to factor in picking off bluffs when draws miss as well as charging draws of course, but saying that you should never bet if you can't stand a raise is a bit daft if taken too literally. Some people hardly ever check-raise so the small chance they do isn't a problem, especially if it means you have an easy fold when you may have called a river bet in any case.
