Meeting with Goldman Private Wealth Mgr.
Tomorrow a few of my classmates and I are having lunch with a private wealth manager from Goldman Sachs in San Francisco. I have a couple questions in mind for him, but I'm curious to see what questions you would be interested in asking.
I'll use a few and get back to you with his answers. |

Re: Meeting with Goldman Private Wealth Mgr.
Are you kidding me? your meeting with a "Private Wealth Manager".
My first question for him is What The [censored] is a private wealth manager (with all due respect of course) Your meeting with an overpaid salesman. Have a good time. If you want to ask him a real question, ask him what the average annual return on invested capital is for his clients, then ask him for how many annual periods. I will bet you that either the former or later is less than 5. kthnxbye |

Re: Meeting with Goldman Private Wealth Mgr.
Yeah, they are just salesmen that make bank off of rich people. I would also ask him what the average return is on the portfolios he is managing. I am willing to bet he doesn't actually know and will give you an optimistic rounded number. |

[/ QUOTE ] 1) this is worse than useless without knowing what vol he is managing to (believe it or not, some wealthy people are risk-averse!) even better, ask him for sharpe ratios (though its less likely he'll know these off-hand) 2) ask him about what process he uses to decide asset allocation decisions for his clients. |
