Default Theory on AT

MP1 limps
HERO limps
MP3 limps
CO limps
Button makes it $20

Hes a very tight player, so I give him a standard range of AJ+ TT+

We all call and see the flop 5 handed.

Pots $100

The flop comes Ad 8d 6s

We all check to the raiser, who goes all-in for his last $100.

The MP1's a solid player with about $1600 in front of him, and he deliberates for over a minute. The players behind me look like theyre mucking. MP1 finally folds and I give him credit for an Ace, like AQ/AJ.

I call.

Standard or terrible?

well, it depends... in these spots u have to use 'gut insticnt' to decide how often a ten is coming on the final 2 cards.
if your instincts said a ten will come, good call.

Terrible, and I know you hate hearing it, but stop limping with semi-strong Aces pre-flop because it puts you in crappy situations like this all the time.

I hate the call here, even if you think that the other villains are folding. The PFR is not going to bluff into 4 players without an A here, so I put him squarely on AK. He'd probably play a set slower, but needs to protect his strong A.

[/ QUOTE ]You must be one of those 'rational' players ZJ was talking about. If your guts tell you that now is the time to spike a ten, then [censored] reach way down, find some balls, and click call.
