Default Chicago Casino NL Questions...

So a little research says that you can play NL 2-5 and up at either East Chicago or Majestic Star.

Questions:

Are there other casino's besides these two?
How far from downtown?
Is one better than the other? (I'll probably be going down Sunday and/or Monday)
Do they have any shuttles or will I need a car?
Does it get crowded? What are typical hours?

Any other advice?

Thanks,

Those are your only two options as far as NL goes.

It can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on what the constuction is on that given day.

Most people tend to favor Majestic because it's a little nicer but the Resorts game is a higher max buy-in.

Resorts has shuttles from different locations around the city, Majestic Star you'll need a car.

Sundays are typically not very good. Monday night there is a NL Tournament at Majestic that draws a big crowd and feeds into the cash games nicely.

Thanks, appreciate the feedback. It looks like Sunday is the only time I will have, but I'll have a car and look it up.

Slight clarification - unless things have changed recently - there is a shuttle from Chinatown that leaves every 2 hours.

2/5 NL is rarely, if ever, spread at Resorts - at least in my limited experience. NL at Resorts is usually 5/10 ($500 max buy in) - sometimes they spread 10/25. (I think technically Resorts offers 2/5, but I've personally never seen it.)

If you want 2/5, Majestic Star is by far your best bet. There are usually a whole bunch of tables every weekend night. Things might have changed a little since they introduced 1/2 NL at Majestic Star.

FYI, the 5/10 game at Resorts is great.

[/ QUOTE ]I've never actually taken the shuttle, but I almost did once and I found the information I needed here: http://www.resortseastchicago.com/transportation.shtml.

Sure. Basically, it's the corner of Archer and Wentworth, just under the El track overpass there.

Here's a map.

Edit: That's the Majestic Star shuttle. You have the link above to the Resorts shuttle info.

The Majestic Star now spreads 1/2 NL with a 100 max.
