Push flop? Depends what you are putting villain on really.

Re: NL100 AK throw up
I would 3-bet flop here all-the time. If he has AA. 33 or 77 he gets my stack.

Re: NL100 AK throw up
If you don't 3-bet the flop, you should get it all in on the turn. More specifically, if you think he's likely to be min-raising the flop with a FD, get 3-bet the flop. if you think he has something different, get it in on the turn.

Re: NL100 AK throw up
Wow, honestly I didn't even think about 3betting flop. From my (limited) experience, usually draws raise big or just call, minraise is more usually monster or made weak hand.
So I didn't put villain on flush draw and thought that if I 3bet flop, all the worse hands fold and better hands push. Bad thinking? |

[ QUOTE ]
So I didn't put villain on flush draw and thought that if I 3bet flop, all the worse hands fold and better hands push. Bad thinking? [/ QUOTE ]Often times this is true. But, using the same logic, we can apply idea to the turn when a club hits. If we pot or c/r, villain can often fold all that we beat and call with all that we are behind. Sometimes we have to raise even though many hands we beat will fold. I am not saying that raising the flop is the right play (or the play I would use most of the time), I am saying that it is not the wrong play because of this reason. Personally, I call flop and lead turn (and call push b/c I think he pushes worse aces here a lot of the time). If called and the board is 4-clubbed, we should often check/fold river. |

Re: NL100 AK throw up
I think I'm 3-betting this flop b/c he will often call with a weaker Ace. I think leading the turn for about $50 is a good idea. He bet so small on the turn it really looks like he wants you to call, but you gotta at least call (I prefer c/r ai) and hope the river is a blank or fills you up. You can't call the river bet, nfold there.
