Default VP$IP stats

My friend and I were discussing whether or not a ~22% VP$IP in full ring NL50 and NL100 was too tight. He claims he's semi loose aggresive, but I see it as very nitty play. My own stats are in the low 40's%, but I play shorthanded. When I use to play full ring, it was in the mid 30's%.

I understand that everyone has their own style and standards, but I think his are way off. Even if he were to raise his VP$IP to high 20's or even 30%, I think he would be able to make more money just by taking down small pots either preflop or on the flop by cbetting. When I told him what my stats were, he claimed I was way too LAG and was gambooling it up too much. Is anyone right here?

Your friend is indeed a TAG/sLAG for full ring, definitely not nitty FR stats. Your stats on the other hand resemble those of the weekend lagfish.
