Calling an all in with a low stack sitting out
The SB has been sitting out the past 20 minutes...

However with the SB sitting out - does that push my requirements up to QQ/KK??? Edit to add read - Playing on multiple tables and villian is pushing any two here. |

Re: Calling an all in with a low stack sitting out
IF SB is sitting out, the correct play is to fold here. This might be one of these rare cases where even calling with AA is not the correct play to make.
If he is a good player he can't be pushing any 2 here either. His pushing range is huge but not that huge. The BB has too many chips left. This would only work when all players are below 5BB and even then calling here would be a mistake knowing that the SB will go out before you. Remember you are not just playing for 3rd place but for a possibility to be first. |

Re: Calling an all in with a low stack sitting out
How can you say that we're playing for 1st and at the same time advocate folding AA in this situation?
The OP claims villain is open pushing with any two and if this is true then I'm calling here every time with JJ, never mind AA. We only have 4BBs left anyway. I presume the OP was either out drawn or ran into a monster but regardless, I think a call is the correct play here. |

This is prbably bad if SB isn't sitting out and UTG is pushing 100%.

Assuming a 100% push is a mistake imo. I doubt this is a call with QQ either.

Re: Calling an all in with a low stack sitting out
SNGPT slightly undervalues your stack in this spot, it thinks you are $EV 24.5% but it is more like 25.5%, due to the fact SB is going to fold out of the money. If you call and win you have $EV of 32.1%, you need 25.5/32.1=79.4% against his range to be making money on the call. That means AA and KK (very marginal vs a more conservative 75% pusher), QQ is no good.

Re: Calling an all in with a low stack sitting out
why would villain NOT push any 2? BB is sitting out, so he wont call. He know the SB will fold almost everything, so im pretty sure he is pushing any 2 if he understands a little about sngs.

[/ QUOTE ] If its a 16 or a 27 chances are he understands zero about this, and it wouldn't be a good idea anyway, because people have no idea when they should call/fold. The point is, he can't push more than 100% but he can push less, you can only be wrong assuming 100% and never in your favour. Mack |
