Bad Beat Payout
My local casino (Jackson Rancheria) is about to start a bad beat payout for all forms of hold'em. Whenever pocket aces loses, that person gets $100. If you were playing in a loose-passive 3-6 limit game, how would this change your strategy for playing pocket aces?

Re: Bad Beat Payout
I'm thinking more in terms of protecting a hand. A no-no with the jackpot, right?

Re: Bad Beat Payout
When you think you're beat, showdown cheaply rather than folding.
Otherwise, I can't imagine adjustments are necessary. Even thinking about protecting your hand is pointless at 3/6. |

Re: Bad Beat Payout
I'd say you just call preflop and play it real slow. on the river if it is checked to you bet, they will call if they beat you. They might call with one lower pair as well. You want a lot of people in the hand. The EV of losing with them is greater than max EV playing them correctly. But definately slow down before the river.
For other tips just search around on the forum. This has been discussed alot since WPEX does this on wednesdays. |

Re: Bad Beat Payout
Obviously I am new to this forum, but at the risk of making an ass of myself, how is WPEX? I heard they were doing 100% rakeback but is the site trustworthy and fishy? Hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by changing topic a bit.
I'll have a look at those other tips. |
