Can someone convince me the Mets are the wrong answer? They're far and away the best team in the weaker league, so they're going to have a much better chance than any AL team to get to the Series. Then, they can't be too much of an underdog against any of them.

The NL overall is weaker than the AL.
Therefore a good team in the NL has a better chance at making the WS than a good team in the AL. Because no team is a huge favorite in a series, the Mets have the best chance of winning the WS(though probably worse than the yankees), because they have the best chance of making the WS.
