Default How do Pros Teach their Students?

Johhny Chan - Jmaie Gold
Phil Ivey - Victor Ramdin
Howard Lederer - Annie Duke
Etc..

You here about all of these guys taking someone under their wing and teaching or mentoring the student on how to become successfull poker players. I was wondering how this process works and what techniques were used to accomplish this.

Are the players sweating thier cards at live games or online, books, software, talking stategy, etc. I am sure it is probably a little of all of these but was looking for a little more detail on how it was done.

Anyone have any info on how this is done or has been thru this process and can shed some light on the subject.

Thanks in advance for your time.

they have a variety of methods. what I've heard some pros do is a lot of 1-on-1 discussion about hands and strategy, and some of them will sweat them online. I seem to remember Gavin Smith saying that when he coached players, regardless of amount of expierience, the first thing he did was make them 4-table 100/200 limit online, while he watched and critiqed their play.
