Re: My Name Is Earl / The Office season premieres thread, 9/21
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] They are definitely not adding another Office. Jim will be in Stanford for like two more eps MAX. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Not even close to the best episode of the office ever, but very solid. Was a lot of it over the top? Yeah, but this is standard for the US version of the Office. Jim will be back in Stafford within the first 3 episodes, definitely. I hope that somehow the guy who calls him "big tuna" makes his way over, too - but I doubt it. [/ QUOTE ] Okay. It is Stamford, as in Stamford, Connecticut. And Scranton, as in Scranton, Pennsylvania. [/ QUOTE ] Are you trying to tell me Jim didn't get transferred to California or Virginia? Now I've heard everything. |

It was not the best Office episode ever, it was a typical Office episode. If everyone wasn't always like "ZOMG BBC VERSION IS SO MUCH BETTER CAUSE THEY SPEAK IN BRITISH ACCENTS SO I CAN FEEL MORE CULTURED BY ENJOYING IT", you would realize that all episodes of NBC's Office have been this good.

Re: My Name Is Earl / The Office season premieres thread, 9/21
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] the office was terrific. the conference room scene was by far the most cringeworthy scene I've ever seen on a television. picked up right where it left off. such a good episode I deleted it off my dvr and immediately regretted it and wanted to watch it again and I don't think I've ever wanted to do that. [/ QUOTE ] I haven't followed the american version diehardly (though that will change), but this was the first time I've seen this version nail that awkward trainwreck scene that the British version had down. So awesome. [/ QUOTE ] might be because Ricky Gervais and his writing partner wrote this episode. Not sure what the whiners are talking about..but this was the first time an episode of a sitcom in recent years that actually made me not miss seinfeld. |

Re: My Name Is Earl / The Office season premieres thread, 9/21
[ QUOTE ]
"You do have a point. However, as Bulldog pointed out, this happens all of the time. A manager who brings in a ton of money can get away with a ton of stuff because companies won't bite the hand that feeds them. I think that is the whole purpose of Michael." The people that are saying this are out to [censored] lunch. What he did gets him fired 100% of the time in any real world scenario. [/ QUOTE ] Not to point out how out to [censored] lunch you are, but didn't I just give a real world example after that statement you quoted? |

Can somone please explain to me why the people in The Office are reacting to the cameras? Is it a faux documentary or something? |

[/ QUOTE ] I think so. That's how the british version was, so I just figured it was here too. Did they not do that in earlier episodes? That's why there are interviews and whatnot. |
