LAST POGGER STANDING - winning thread! gg guys
My wife informed me that dog groomers, as part of their normal grooming of dogs, are required to squeeze the anal glands of their dog-clients. She said this is done to keep them from clogging or something. She's pulling my leg, right?
Edit - I bet Meatball knows the answer to this. Paging Mr. Bedford... |

Re: Dog Grooming and Anal Glands Question
Nope. It's real. Many owners do this themselves...not doing it is very uncomfortable for dogs--thats why you see them draggin their asses around on carpets etc.
This is the real reason to take dogs to the groomer, imo...I aint squeezing nobodys anal glands unless they look like Chirstina Ricci. --GA |

Re: Dog Grooming and Anal Glands Question
Our dog occasionally has problems with this, yes they do need this gland relieved. This is why they drag their butt on carpet or grass.

Re: Dog Grooming and Anal Glands Question
That is gross, and another reason I'm glad I don't have a dog.

Re: Dog Grooming and Anal Glands Question
No, it isn't a joke, and yes, some owners do it. Personally, I prefer paying $10 every three months to putting on a rubber glove, lubing it up, and going in myself.

Re: Dog Grooming and Anal Glands Question
Got a Pomeranian for my daughters. Just learned about this one a few weeks ago.
It's a little dog and I have big fingers, so I figure it's the wife's job. |
