Default D & B\'s newest book

Secrets of Professional Limit Hold'em

Anyone heard anything on this? D&B publishing is fast becoming a great publisher so I'm looking forward to this. I just ordered it so I'll hopefully have some news on it soon.

Byron - I hope you catch this thread, tell us about Carl Sampson, and his goals with this book. Your putting out too much product too fast, I cannot keep up!!!!

Carl also wrote Princes of Darkness: The World of High Stakes Blackjack? I've never read it, anyone with an opinion to share?

As far as I know, both the Sampson books are not yet released (at least in Europe)

Hi TT,

Carl's book will be out next month. He is a successful pro player and has written mainly about what differentiates a pro player from a ... well non-pro player, I guess.

The closest model is probably Roy Cooke's books that take you through hands and explain what he was thinking about at the time. Carl's is similar to this but the emphasis is more, "Well, this is what the standard play is ... but if you look more deeply into the situation, you can spot a possibility for a different and more profitable (i.e. expert) play." There is also a fair amount of stuff on just generally having a 'pro' approach to playing.

His blackjack book is definitely out and has been for a month or so. It should be available in the States. Carl led a high stakes blackjack team for several years and its an account of his experiences.

There's a complete guide as to how to beat blackjack games (card countng, shuffle tracking etc) but its also told as a racy story along the lines of the Richard Marcus book, Great Casino Heist - although I think that book may have had a different title in the States.

The Prince of Darkness book says Oct 1, but is also listed as in stock, so maybe Amazon made a mistake. The Secrets of Professional Limit Hold'em book is not listed as in stock and ships in 1-3 Months on Amazon. That's a pretty long wait.
