Default Living in Las Vegas

I'm considering moving to vegas for a few months this winter, and was trying to get some ideas for places, areas to live. Probably prefer near the strip--some friends have mentioned "The Meridian" as a nice place. Looking for other suggestions, any locals with ideas, info would be greatly appreciated.

Also, sure there are some links previously posted on 2+2 that would be informative on this subject. Please post if you have them!

I used Craigslist for my 3 months living out there this last summer, and I found it to work well. Next time I'll make some appointments ahead of time, but I just went to an Internet cafe the day I arrived, and found a nice place that afternoon. Living near Maryland and Flamingo worked out well. Try to avoid living too near Twain east of the Strip. A bit ghetto.

I believe the Meridian has converted to condos.
