Party Poker now only shows players' country

It doesn't show city. What might be the reason for the change?

No clue, but I just noticed this as well....there was an update yesterday morning...guess this was part of it.

Total speculation, but maybe some people complained about privacy issues. If I live in a small town and have a screenname that publicly identifies me (JoeBlow38768) AND my city, people could figure out exactly who I am.

Of course the solution would be to change your screenname.

Highly doubt it. Half the players at my tables are non-U.S.

If a US-citizen, thinking of opening an account on Party, would be worried about breaking some insame law, then seeing all these payers from USA playing, might take away some of his worries.

im glad they show the country now. that's something i wanna know. i've been paranoid ever since two finnish guys at my table, one in the hand vs me when i was semi-bluffing, and one sitting out, discussed my play (tackar bluffar or some [censored]). i only noticed after i got called down with 55 vs AK. i was gonna see if there was any chat so i could maybe understand wtf he was doing calling down PSBs with an underpair. he was calling cuz his fellow countryman had picked me off while sitting out and was nice enough to tell his buddy [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Party is marketing heavily overseas. In the past few months there's been a huge influx of non-American players. Makes sense to identify players by country.
