Re: Ako blind battle
I would probably just call. The way you played it, I'm not comfortable with raising. Folding is not an option.

Re: Ako blind battle
Lead flop. Why aren't we 3-betting the turn? This is a great situation if villain has the case A (usually).

Re: Ako blind battle
def raise this to 120 preflop. you're gonna be OOP the whole hand. Lead the flop, it gets more chips in the pot, avoids giving free cards, and generally is good for deception and metagame purposes. I'd probably lead for 150.
The way you played it, please please 3 bet that turn, it is very unlikely villian is folding an ace at this level so it's time to get the chips in. |

Re: Ako blind battle
When the blinds are at the very early stages, I like a bigger raise. Usually of 120-200. I settle on 150.
Flop: You can check that flop and hope that the villain fires at it, you have a monster. Turn: Ok to bet 90 (You whiffed on the flop, so you have to bet the turn). I would prefer a slightly bigger bet to begin with. When UTG+1 raises u, I re-raise here. I would probably make it 700 total, and that will stop him from chasing a flush. If he plays it back at me, then I think about it. River: This is tough, it looks like a made flush. UTG+1 might have a weaker A. I say this depend on the opponent and your read. I usually call it, but I am loose like that |

Re: Ako blind battle
the bigger pre-flop raise seems like a good idea, although in this hand i wouldnt have made a difference since villain had 55
I wanted to slowplay my hand, but on the turn I found out villain had a big hand also. So I didnt 3-bet because i got scared. |

[ QUOTE ]
I wanted to slowplay my hand, but on the turn I found out villain had a big hand also. [/ QUOTE ] You don't want to slowplay exactly FOR that reason - because the villian also has a big hand. Go ahead and get the money in. Reraise him to 700 or so and call the push. Yeah, he had 55 here, but he often has AQ, AJ, A10 (or even lower sometimes) as well. People have a hard time laying down trip aces, even with a sh**ty kicker. Plus, you want someone on a flush draw to pay to see the next card -- as played, you are giving him a free card. |
