Paying yourself out of your bankroll
I play limit holdem at Party. anywhere from 10-20 to 30-60
I am pondering a system for paying myself each month out of my bankroll. (win or lose) I was thinking 5% per month. Does anyone else have similar system? Do you think this percentage is too high or too low? |

Re: Paying yourself out of your bankroll
The way I do it is to keep X amount in the account. I prefer to have 200 times the size of the big bet. Just for a number lets say $12000. When your up a percentance over that, I would take it out. That way you will always have sufficant bankroll for your online account, but you'll get a little bonus when your doing well. I do 10%.

thanks but this is the system I have been using. I am looking to implement something that will allow me to realize some profit even in a losing month.

Re: Paying yourself out of your bankroll
how about using the system you are using, but withdraw it only to Neteller or whatever you use, then withdrawing say 1/3 of what is your your neteller account each month.

Re: Paying yourself out of your bankroll
Here's one way to do it.
Suppose your historical win rate in the games you regularly play is 1.5BB/100. You want to take money out of your roll regularly to live on, while continuing to grow your roll and protect yourself from swings. One thing you could do would be to take out 0.5 BB for every hundred hands you play, leaving you with an effective win rate (after your own personal rake) of 1.0 BB/100. You would then use that after-withdrawal number for computing the size of the bankroll you need to maintain for a given betting limit, when you can move up, when you have to move down, etc. |

Re: Paying yourself out of your bankroll
Credit yourself with some percentage of your historic winrate and pay yourself based on hands played.
The larger percent of your bankroll you set aside to have it grow perpetually, the less likely it'll be for you to bust. If you withdraw 100% of your winrate, busting is an inevitability. It just becomes a matter of how long. |

Re: Paying yourself out of your bankroll
Multitabling NL100, I like to keep $1000 in whatever site I'm playing on, another backup $1000 in Neteller (emergency bonuses/reloads etc), and anything else at the end of the month (or whenever) gets transferred to my two land accounts.
I'm a winning player (for two years), and this system works. I have very little urge to try and move up in stakes, as what I am doing now pays for school and a lot of other stuff as well. So I can withdraw from my BR with impunity. |
