The very first tournament I ever played in (live or online) was a Foxwoods $50+$15 200 player MTT. I took down 3rd for $900ish. Then I raced home just in time to watch the Pats win their first Super Bowl and also won $250 on my squares.

Being broke after my first foray into online poker I signed up for RoyalVegas cuz they give you $10 for free. I took that $10 and ran it up to $1000+ within a week after destroying the $2 HU SnG's and then placing 3rd and 1st in 400 player $3 tournies back to back nights.

15 months ago I was broke (again lol). A friend of mine gave me $20 to enter a 7person live winner take all SnG. I won for net $120. I put $100 into Party Poker the next morning and put $50 on a .5/$1nl table and $50 on another. I then ran proceeded to run that borrowed twenty bucks into a couple of thousand in a week and ~$175,000 by years' end.

playin 10/20 NL on party while a good friend of mine (2p2 lurker) watches.

I make it 75 to go in the CO with 88, teacuppoker calls from the sb. Flop 467 r, check, pot, call.

turn either T or J, check check.

river 2, he checks, I'm about to bet and my friend says "OMG don't bet, all you are going to do is let him move you off the best hand!!"

I reply, "well I know I have the best hand, I'm gonna call fast if he moves in."

So he checks, i bet 400 or so, he pushes for 1300 more or so, I instacall. The pot gets shipped my way, and we don't see what he has (on party they often just show the winning hand somehow). My friend is like "wtf??? what the hell could he have had?!"

I say, "I dunno, 56s?"

Friend says "If he had [censored] 56s, I'm quiting poker forever"

We look at the hand history (this is before i got pokerace)..... and of course, 5c 6c. Me and friend go nuts.

I skip a week of school to go hang out in Monte Carlo and chill since my friend has a free hotel room for qualifying on stars and play some 1k multis.

4 Handed. 4th pays 8k euro.
I have Ah4h and shove the sb with 8 BB's. BB calls with KK.

Flop Kxxh. I stand up to leave. Turn xh river xh and I double to about average. I ended up dealing 4 handed with about even stacks for 24k euro and busted with 2 pair vs a set the hand after we delt.

At one point in the tourney I was sucked out on in 2 back to back hands leaving me with 2 bb's and calling a raise blind in the bb. This was 8 handed I believe.

just over a year ago, i was back in school for the second time, and afer numerous gambling expeditions to vegas and LA, was pretty much busto save for a few k in the bank and 450 in my party account.. but i realized i couldnt handle school because it made me wanna pull mymhair out. anyways.. i had 450 in my account so i obv loaded up 4 109s. i won 3 and got a second. from there, over hte next 48 hours, i ran my account up to 20k off of 109s and 215 sngs. if i had lost all 4 of those.. i dont even know if id still be playing poker.. kinda sick. oh, and my second finest moment was second in last night's PLO wcoop for 93k. ship it! holla

The important question here is, did you ever pay back the $20 you borrowed? hehehe

Also when the 5/10 opened on party I had 10k-15k stacks a couple of times (I hardly ever see anyone with 10k stack at 5/10 anymore)

[/ QUOTE ]

Actually that is true, I can't remember seeing a 10 buy-in stack for ages.

I had my first one last Sat morn (3:00am cst) Party 5/10.
