Check the thread in BBV, i was hoping some math guys could confirm what its been said there, 1.7% edge per bet.

The BBV thread on this says that it makes BJ +1.71% for the player. The correct chart is, apparently:
http://wizardofodds.com/blackjack/strategy/4deck.html PLEASE PARTY LET ME WIN. I wonder if I can handle losing $8k in an hour. |

I wonder how they'll handle the insurance bet when player has blackjack. Will they pay the player BJ at 2:1 or at 1.5:1 when player takes insurance?. If they pay 2:1 for the player BJ in this case, the insurance bet is good +EV. I think, I'll play with a $5K BR at 1.5% bet size, and move up/down in bet size if I win/lose more than 10%.

risk of ruin will still destroy you [/ QUOTE ] This is by no means an area that I am strong on, but Risk of Ruin is a function of betsize vs. bankroll, isn't it? I don't mind risking $10k on a positive EV proposition provided it's got a higher expected return per hour than poker. My poker expected return is around ~$300ph (optimistically, but it's easily over $200ph), whilst if I have +$1000ph expected return by this promotion IF I bet $100 hands, it's pretty hard to turn it down. It'd take a serious amount of scaling down and losses to lose all $10k if I am betting 1% "bankroll", wouldn't it? Edit: I am assuming 600 hands per hour at +1.71% edge, and I am assuming that the maths in the BBV thread is correct. |

[/ QUOTE ] The only other relevent information that would need to be present in order to weigh this one up is the time frame that the promotion will run. If say the promotion only runs for 1 month, standard deviation could wipe out your bankroll before you ever see your 1.71% edge. |
