Or should I just be calling? What is your criteria for raising an expensive street to a donk. Must there be no obvious straights or FD completed etc? 99 is the most obvious possibility given the way the hand played out. I raised b/c, besides 99, the 9 should only help Q9 and 87 hands which i doubt he would be raising in the first place though there were only 4 people on the table and he is a LAG. He could be donking with a lot of crap. |

96o helps him too, just like 93o. Look at his stats, he could have any hand.
I think it's very close between raising and calling. If you get 3bet, you can't fold to him. If he bluffs, he won't call anyway. |

Re: AA 5/!0 a River donk- easy raise?
I would just call this. He will fold to your raise some % of the time and you will be 3bet by a better hand another % of the time. I think the risk of being 3-bet outweighs the value of getting one extra bet in with an overpair here.

Re: AA 5/!0 a River donk- easy raise?
No raise on a big street with just one pair is easy, but this one is pretty good I think.
My Criteria for raising a big street donk. 1. TPTK or better (goes down with a history of donking) 2. Someone who can't bet/fold a weak pair. 3. No Flush draw came in. ( I probably raise too many straightening boards though) This situation fits. |
