how many big blinds per 100 hands is considered...
good playing .50/1 NL online... is it in the 5-6 big blind range per 100 hands...i've read plently about what is considered good in limit but don't really have a clue what is good in NL. the reason for this question is that i just switched from limit to NL and like i said have no clue. sorry for the elementary question but i couldn't find what i wanted using the search functions. thanks

Re: how many big blinds per 100 hands is considered...
i think 1bb/100 is good and -1bb/100 is bad.
in nl, the std dev of your bb/100 is enormous, so it's very hard to get a good number. also, bb/100 is going to be much higher for strong LAGs than it is for strong TAGs, since LAGs play more hands/100. LAGs will probably be able to play fewer tables (and therefore less hands/hr) since their style of play requires them to concentrate more on each table (because they're playing more hands!). Of course, this only applies up to a certain point, at which adding a hand/100 is going to lower your winrate (impossible to maintain a winrate playing 100% of hands). conclusion: i don't know. Oh, and I ran at 3bb/100 6-8 tabling .05/.10 on fulltilt and am now running 24bb/100 3-4 tabling .10/.25 on pokerstars. I won't maintain 24bb/100. |

Re: how many big blinds per 100 hands is considered...
This is from the FAQ, which is linked from the Master Sticky. Seriously read everything there. It's better than any poker book.
Q: What's a sustainable winrate for this game? A: I believe the average winrate sustained by fairly good players is 7-8PTBB/100. Click here for a winrate thread. Aiming for anything above 0 is reccomended. |

Let winrate take care of itself. Aim your focus toward improving your game. Never be satisfied with your winrate because it could always be better.

If you are concerned with your winrate you are off to a very bad start.

Re: how many big blinds per 100 hands is considered...
Oh come on. I think its fine even for new players to know what a decent winrate to strive for is.
If I want to be snarky I'd say that a new player should read all the stickies before posting questions. There's a lot of info for new players including the answer to his question. |

Keep aiming for one more than your current wr and you'll be fine.

Re: how many big blinds per 100 hands is considered...
Out of interest, what is a good sample size for proof you are a winning player? Can't find this anywhere, so might aswell post it here, rather than clutter the forum with another gay thread.
