Badugi
Or however it's spelled.
Four card lowball, triple daw, make four different suits without a pair. Can someone give basic odds for 9 -> 3-handed? Assume a loose game if that helps. Also basic draw odds. Any tips? I'm basically going to be taking a flier in a big game but would really like some math ammunition. I've played no lowball. Matt |

Re: Badugi
its hard to make a hand, play tight. really good three cards are almost like madehands, but dont get carried away with that in multi-way pots.

Re: Badugi
The only math I know for certain is that a made KQJT badugi is a slight (like 51:49) favorite over a A23 with all three draws to go. That said, the game is about having the best draw because when you do you don't have a draw at all, you have a made two or three card hand and everyone is drawing to beat it. Once someone has or declares they have (by standing pat) a badugi, the whole game changes into a secondary game where you either make a badugi, or convince them that you have and see if they will break or fold their's. The first game is easy, the second one is what makes it an interesting poker game.

Re: Badugi
Speaking of this, I have a stupid rule-related question about Badugi.
Does a 2-card flush beat a pair, or vice-versa? e.g. A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] vs. A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Which hand is better? |

[/ QUOTE ] So 12 of A23's suit left, less A,2, and 3 so 9 outs. 44 unknonws, A23 loses: 35/44 * 34/43 * 33/42 ~= .494 Wow that is pretty damn close to a coin flip (though I think the A23 is the very slight favorite, but I often screw up simple math). I would have guessed the A23 was a big favorite. |

Re: Badugi
Tied in my game. Goes strictly to a three-card hand with either a pair or two of same suit.
