i folded. does anyone call, with the info that i had? i thought he was 13/10 w no reads.

i could be being severely results-oriented, but if i thought about it more i guess i could have put him on Ahx or something to that effect, simply because i'd assume he bets the river for fear i check behind (if he has a flush), and called. but my first impression, when he checked the river, was OK, easy vbet, if he c/res it HAS to be a flush and i can fold without caring that much

[/ QUOTE ]

well the thing is i never put YOU on a flush here ....more likely a set/2pr, or pair + Ah combo sort of thing. so i think your range could easily weigh heavily in something that you vb river but fold to the push with.

right, i know he's never putting me on a flush (prob not a set or two pair, either). but i didn't weigh them too heavily 'cause my initial thoughts were str8forward player incapable of making a play like this

I think bet/fold is expert on the river.

I think bet/fold is standard on the river.

This is kind of like C/R'ing the river on a bluff with any hand that the player in position can check behind with and value bet on the end. Well, it's kind of like it in the sense that the player in position just calling on the turn should have a hand that he can't call a checkraise with on the end, but could occasionally value bet.

It is not at all like that; checking behind on turn is nearly always a sign of weakness, calling on the turn is not at all as indicative of that.
