I called because of the price, which I thought was a bad reason afterwards, and he showed the other AA.

[/ QUOTE ]

how is that a bad reason, imo the results show pretty clearly why it's a pretty solid reason. fwiw i agree that it's a thin call but i don't think its an incorrect one.

if its not a bluff, and the best he can do is a chop to one combination, it would be a bad reason...

the key to Hold 'em is about getting as much in the pot as possible when you know you're ahead

This is definitely how I play against donks who I know will call with 2nd best hands. I guess I haven't "learned to play poker yet" either, Foxwoodsfiend.

um, good point. i've also been informed that the key to winning a football game is scoring more points than the other team.

[/ QUOTE ]

well, moneyball basically proves the key to baseball is scoring more runs then your opponent. which is pretty cool, considering too many people are hung up on hits, errors, strikeouts, etc.

Nonsense. Good players here who possess any sense about Hold Em will reraise here every time. You are OOP versus an unknown player at a casino notorious for loose, horrendous gambling action. I have little if any clue why you would not give your opponent a chance to hang himself here with KK/QQ/AK, and yes, a fundamental part of the game is building a pot when you know you're in the lead. No need here to try and be a superhero and get cute OOP, then "whiff an attempted CR" and play AA weak as hell.

[/ QUOTE ]

only take an arrogant tone when you've become a real player.

It's odd how cyclical the evolution of posters and players are. When we start out our play, we bet hands that we shouldn't and as we get bettter, we get the sense to not bet certain hands on the river, and as we get even better, we start comfortably betting more hands on the river for value.

As posters, we start out arrogant, mellow out, and then eventually can't take 2+2 anymore and either quit or treat the other players with huge disdain.

Sine Curve.

So you've heard that the Borgata has loose action?!? WOW, I guess every Borgata player must be awful. Have you ever played in a casino or are you just posting based on a generic, featureless stereotype of what casinos are like? Some people are loose and horrendous, some aren't. This guy didn't look like some tourist moron. I've stacked many people with AA vs KK/QQ on a board of unders by taking this line: it works to get the money in and you really should get some more experience playing poker before talking down to anybody on this board.

Here's a hint: I thought my best way of playing a big pot was by not blowin the guy off his hand.

and play AA weak as hell.

It's not exactly weak to play AA "weak as hell" on the worst possible board.

I have noticed that for the past month there is alot of negative comments, anger, envy, and pecker measuring contests in the high stakes forum. Although I enjoy reading these train wrecks, I find this strange as top professional poker players strive for emotional control.

I've "heard" that Borgata is loose action? FYI, I'm in AC quite frequently and have more than enough experience playing to talk about someone's questionable line OOP which led to use of the phrase "whiffed check raise". 3 bet preflop. Your line about stacking someone on an all under board is asinine, b/c KK is going nowhere preflop. You would not be blowing him off his hand in the least by sticking in a raise to $1300, etc.

If you're such a big time regular here and I'm just a guy who clearly can't have any knowledge b/c I've only posted 20 times, why are you taking it to heart that I suggested you four bet pre? Thicken that skin up a bit.
