Weird [censored] in movies that doesn't belong there

yeah but we're talking about the movie, not the book. there wasn't anything about that guy in the movie. so putting in a few seconds where some guy is giving head to a big furry bear is pretty damn inexplicable.

I found that scene totally ironic...it's a "joke" about advertising, product placement, or whatever, but Applebee's obviously paid them a crapload of money to have it in the movie. If they really intended it to be in there just for humor, they would have used a commercial for a fake restaurant.

Another one is the line in Boiler Room when Greg first comes to Seth's house to play blackjack. Seth sees his Ferrari and asks something like "It's a six speed, right?" Greg replies, "Yea, synchro mesh."

WTF!?!? No one would ever say that, maybe the most annoying line ever.
