The reason I think pushing preflop is fine/good is that a lot of those hands that beat you reraise here...the monsters don't but a *ton* of weakish/weak/weaker hands will just flat call. Most players really don't have the capacity to only call with monsters here...they simply think their hand is ok but not great and call accordingly with such good pot odds.

As far as the flop I think you have enough equity when you fold and are likely HU that it's better than attempting to help knock shorty out as a likely dog on this flop.

Do you think he's betting a worse flush draw here ever? Those times are a huge % of your equity

[/ QUOTE ]

Not that this doesnt happen, but it is truly an awful play by the big stack to push a draw here into an empty sidepot

if the flop was checked to you would you bet it???... i hope not

Because if I call and miss I can bust 3rd for 400 - If I fold I pretty much have 2nd locked up with a shot at first.

[/ QUOTE ]

This sentence is way too optimistic IMO. If you call the only finish that hurts you is Button>SB>BB, and Button has the widest range here. Also with about 4k in chips your shot a first isn't a particularlly good one.

Hi Andrew,

I like your play PF and I would call on the flop. I think you have to put him on a Ten because of his bet w/ the player all-in. You can assume a) he has the all-in player beat, b) your Ace is good (and c) obviously the flush draw is) so to me, it adds up for a call (there is a little room for error anyways).

And yes I thought this before I read the results

How's the new place?

Ryan

I would push preflop almost all the time.

ok, what am i missing here, still?

PF: (5580)
shorty pushes, biggy calls, hero calls.

Flop: (~10k)
biggy pushes flop, hero gets 2.2 to 1 odds with a flush draw + overcard. he has to beat both players to scoop the whole pot.

still seems like an easy fold unless im looking at this HH wrong.

imo, 2.2 are not good odds when you have to beat 2 players with a draw.
