Re: Steve Foley and the .233 BAC level
umm .233 BAC would be pretty damn drunk but not falling down drunk. Definitely not a good idea to be driving at this level though.

[ QUOTE ]
I have no problem believeing his BAC was .233. It takes an hour for the body to proccess one drink (shot of liquor, beer, glass of wine). So if he had several drinks over a few hours, got in the car, sees he's being followed, adrenaline kicks in... end of story. [/ QUOTE ] hahaha! "several drinks over a few hours" and BOOM! .233 bac. yea right buddy. |

[ QUOTE ] according to your link 20 beers over 5 hours, for someone who weighs 265 pounds (Foley's weight) is .23 BAC. The thing with BAC is just because its 14 beers in 1 hour, doesnt mean if spread out you'd have to average that much per hour. [/ QUOTE ] 20 beers over 5 hours and you are passed out. I guess now we're gonna get a bunch of internet dudes claiming they could do this and still know where they are. [/ QUOTE ]Did you go to college? 20 beers in 5 hours is not pushing it at all, especially if you are exerting yourself (dancing, moving around). My buddies and I used to buy a 20 pack each on a friday night. Didn't always get through them all, but when we did, we were still somewhat functional. Depended a lot on how much we had eaten, what we were doing and such. Call BS if you want, but I know this for a fact. I puked quite a few times after that much consumption... who's to say he didn't puke and rally at some point? |

I don't doubt he could function with .233 BAC. 15 beers in 1 hour is not unheard of for someone 250+. |

According to that first website, I die every saturday and thursday night. 20 beers over 4 hours it says is completely unreasonable.

Re: Steve Foley and the .233 BAC level
[ QUOTE ]
For those of you who don't know, Steve Foley was a football player who was recently shot by an off duty police officer. The officer followed Foley for over 30 miles at speeds exceeding 90mph. The police recently released a statement claiming that Foley's BAC at the time he was shot was .233. The whole story sounds really, really strange so I looked up on the Internets to see how many drinks I would have to drink to get to .233 bac. Click on the link below to find out. I'm at .233 after drinking 11 martinis or 14 beers in one hour. Now I don't know about you, but if drink at that rate I am falling down, seeing triple blotto azz drunk. There is no freaking way I could drive a car for 30 miles at 90 mph without crashing. BAC calculator Foley Story [/ QUOTE ] well, it is easier to drive drunk on the right side of the road, if that makes a difference. |

[/ QUOTE ] When I go to bars where I know the owner or bartenders, I am usually drinking doubles all night (mostly whisky or vodka). If I drink three doubles in an hour, over 5 hours, that is 15 shots in 5 hours... I don't drive home, but I'm not off my feet. As an NFL player, I assume he can probably pound them much better than myself, he probably gets hooked up when it comes to his drinks (alcohol-wise), and he may even be drinking drinks mixed with Red Bull or some other energy drink wihch can make you feel less drunk than you actually are. This story is absolutely possible and I have no idea why I am wasting my time trying to defend the idea from the naysayers. |

Re: Steve Foley and the .233 BAC level
Red bull makes you feel "less drunk"? I dont think so.
.233 < vomitting, for anybody that drinks occasionally. |
