Default 10/20: How many bets shall go in?

I'm trying to figure how many bets to put in on the bigger streets in different situations. Here are two hands that I played today.

Hand 1:
I have only stats read on villain. 34/23/2. I guess he is a good lag, he has been winning over the few hundred hands I have logged on him.

Party Poker 10/20 Hold'em (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
2 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB calls.

Flop: (4.50 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB raises, Hero calls.

Turn: (4.25 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

River: (4.25 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB 3-bets, Hero ??

Hand 2:
Villain here is also a lag, I think he is worse than the player in the first hand. 37/23/1.5. When I played the hand I felt that he didn't think I was very strong, and therefore tried to push me off.

Party Poker 10/20 Hold'em (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
Hero raises, 2 folds, Button calls, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: (8 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks, Button checks.

Turn: (4 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, Button folds, SB raises, BB folds, Hero ??

Hand #1 I would fold the flop. River seems close but I would probably cap here because a lot of the LAGTAGs in this game overplay trips. But calling is best if you think the player is a good hand reader and not superaggressive postflop.

Hand 2, I would call down if you think SB is likely making a move here.

Hand 1: With a good lag in the BB I would fold this hand preflop, I just dont think its worth it. Postflop looks good, river looks like a cap against this guy.

Hand 2: I think you played this hand well every street, I would call down here or I would 3bet the turn and check the river. I just cant fold to this guy in this spot given that you think he thinks your FOS, so I would take one of those 2 lines. The 3bet/fold to a cap line has the advantage of getting him to incorrectly fold some 3x hand that may have 5 outs against you, and some BS hands that may have 6 outs against you. Im not sure which line I would take, but I wouldnt fold. This is also a decent sized pot, a pot worth fighting for given the circumstances.

In this situation I usually bet against 2 or less and check against 3 or more. This bot strategy is certainly not perfect, but thats what I would usually do.

Hand 1: I fold preflop 75%. I would call flop c/r and ask myself why as I'm doing it, usually I say hey self the value of possibly getting to showdown with a pair and knowing what filth I've been c/r with or raising a turned draw is worth enough getting 7:1. I would call river but I don't think capping isn't bad either.

Hand 2: I can't remember the last time I checked the flop in this situation, I guess it would depend more on the button than anything else. As played, I'd call down cuz if I were villian it doesn't make sense for you to have what you have so I'd probably think I'm value betting my 3 or trying to fold Ax with my K9.

I call the flop checkraise also, Im not folding in this spot to that guy. This would honestly be an auto-call for me, no thought process at all.

Yeah, about hand 2: I think I need to identify more spots to 3-bet and fold to a cap (or perhaps call down a cap if the read is solid). As the hand played out I just called and then he checked to me on a brick river. I pussied out and checked behind. He showed KJo so I guess he wouldn't have called a river bet - but I should've charged him on the turn.
