Re: [3/6] QQ overpair hand
i'd consider 3betting the flop since that is such an odd way to play aa or kk but its okay that you didn't.
turn and river are fine. |

Re: [3/6] QQ overpair hand
I'd 3-bet the flop. As played, button seems to be pretty passive, raising two opponents in the big pot on the river most probably means he has you beat. You have to fold. Did he really have 44?

Re: [3/6] QQ overpair hand
One more for 3-betting the flop...in my experience at least, the preflop cap followed by flop c/r is often AK or even AQ rather than AA/KK. It's a scare tactic designed to get you to fold medium pockets...failing that, I would definitely have popped the turn. UTG clearly does not have the 6, but again in my experience, a lot of players will go into calldown mode even with aces when the board pairs here. This also puts more pressure on the apparently drawing Button, and possibly buys you a free river if you choose to accept it.
The river card is ugly as hell. I don't blame you for folding there, but hell...20:1 & closing the action, Button doesn't have to think his 77 or A5 are good & UTG doesn't have to be overplaying AK or JJ very often to make the call. |

Re: [3/6] QQ overpair hand
As others have said, I threebet the flop and calldown a cap. I think the river fold is pretty easy. He has big hearts here a lot... sometimes 44 rarely a FH. If you folded the best hand, it is an outlier IMO.

[/ QUOTE ] If we estimate that I'm beating each individual opponent 5% of the time, and that the probability that I'm beating each oppoennt is independent of the other...then I'm winning 1 in 400 times. |

Re: [3/6] QQ overpair hand
I think I play this hand exactly the same. I think calling the flop raise and 3-betting both have merit.

[/ QUOTE ] Online 3/6, I think it's safe to figure that we're beating each of them far more than 5% of the time. Although Button's fairly passive postflop numbers seem to suggest that he did indeed river at least a straight. Not saying you should have called on the end, but in a pot that size that's a tough laydown to make for 1 BB. |
