spread vs fixed limit

what differences should be expected when playing a spread limit such as 1-4-4-8 compared to straght fixed limit 4-8 holdem?

to check and see if i even have the structure right:
does this mean bets of 1 to 4 on the 1st two betting rounds, and 4 to 8 on the last two streets?

what adjustments (if any) are needed from standard sshe play?
