No, check behind and take a free card since you picked up the draw. This is the advantage of position.

Re: $1-2NL JJ - fire again on the turn?
What hands does villian call a large reraise with OOP? 99+, AQs+, AKo? I check behind on turn, and maybe c/c a reasonable sized river bet, not a big bet. our hand looks like a whiffed AK and given villians pfr and aggro factor, he could easily be betting a worse hand.
Im also assuming that villian will bet river when we check behind on turn because that seems to happen almost always. is there some kind of postulate or theorem dealing with situation? if there isnt, someone should make one. |

By not betting, we're provoking a bluff from villain on the River with AK if he doesn't hit. I actually checked, the river was a rag and he bet the pot . . . Re: $1-2NL JJ - fire again on the turn?
well, without any other read, im not calling a psb with 2nd pair.
maybe firing a second barrel on the turn for 1/2 pot would be better? -if he calls, hopefully he checks the river and we buy a cheap showdown -if he c/rs us, we can get away semi-cheaply the only problem with this is that we have a nice draw. and given our rr pf, i dunno if villian can put us on a J. he may stack off with a set or 2pair. |

Re: $1-2NL JJ - fire again on the turn?
Jam, as played do you call a psrb?
thinking about it, i would much rather bet the turn and (1) make villian define his hand, (2) charge overcard/1pair hands to draw on me, and (3) deny villian the chance to bluff me on the river when i have a marginal holding after ive showed so much strength. sure, if i had a stronger hand against this opponent, inducing a bluff may be better. but because there is so much uncertainty as to what villian could be holding, that you cant be picking off big river bets here. |
