Option 5:

Even if illegal, keep playing. How's that for a choice.

And as far as "less fish" so what if my winrate drops from $250 to $75. I'll still NEVER go back and get a real job if I can keep making this kind of money.

I think the only people it will truely make "close down shop" will be the NL 50/NL100 players and maybe the small stakes SNG players.

There is a lot of tough talk and denial but the poker situation is serious. Problem number one is even with poker in the grey zone more and more rooms are already closing American accounts. B2B and some of the Cryptos being of the most visible. This could be just the tip of the iceburg. You could get around this I am sure but if you are found out terms and conditions could allow sites to clean out accounts.

If legislation passes don't count on there being a lack of enforcement. We are talking about the same country that spends billions putting people in jail over something as harmless as pot.

I am sorry to say that I fear you are right.

There is a huge incentive to put healthy young people in prison. It has always been a jobs program for law enforcement, attorneys, "counselors" to tell the pot smoker that he is a crazy addict, and other such parasites. But now a new element has come to be since many prisons are private corporations run for profit.

Even if you are not jailed, watch for prosecutions where people are fined and have to waste money on stupid "counseling" for the "disease" of gambling addiction. That's money in the pocket for the useless parasite counselors who never seem to cure anyone of mental disease but keep taking people's money anyway, no problem.

Any ex-patriot would smile sadly at this. All long to return to their countries. Some actually decide to return and face the music, rather than live in permanent exile.

Whether or not they were born in the US, casino execs don't think of themselves as criminals nor want to think of themselves as criminals and would not want to live their personal lives under such restrictions. As such, they will change their business practices in order to conform to the new realities.

[/ QUOTE ] How many ex-patriots and online gambling site owners do you know? Your making a lot stupid, unfounded asumptions. Some would prefer to make millions and never visit the US again. Some wouldn't.

I would equate this anti-gambling bill just like the push for a ammendment to the constitution to outlaw gay marriage. All it is is rallying the base to get voters.

There's always the hope that the bill fails and the ones that stopped US customers welcome us back with open arms.

Also, the less likely hope that somehow it is regulated by the gov't and we get the 2nd golden age of online poker.

Anyways, as long as the top 5 or so poker rooms don't ban us, I don't think us pros who make a living without having to depend on rakeback will be going anywhere soon.
