Default Betus.com- anybody try this site?

My buddy just referred me to Betus.com, I have accounts at pinnacle and bodog, both big name places, but I'm curious if anybody has experience with this company?

One thing i don't like, is they called me within 2 hours of setting up my account. The number was a FortLaunderdale #, and they wanted me to add the same amount I'd just added to my account again, for an extra 10% bonus. I don't like being called and sold on a promotion.

Are they reputable?

No. They are dodgy as hell, imo. I wouldn't play here.

I bet with them for awhile. I recomend you get out. They stiffed me on a bonus and their lines are bad. Much better value elsewhere.

Thanks!

I wish I had read the sportsbooks reviews in the FAQ section...but buddy joined last week and has been bragging about some great bonus- he's an idiot and didn't do any research, but I took his reccomendation anyways, so now i'm an idiot for believing him.

I put $1k in- the give me a $350 bonus, that I can use to place individual bets....but now that I have this bonus- i can't withdraw ANY money until I play over $5k in wagers....wtf??? I placed a few wagers this a.m., then tried to cash a bit of money out to test it. It said cancelled due to not meeting bonus requirements. So right away I call them, I told them I don't wan the bonus- i don't want the wagers I just played, you can use my cash accounts for them, I'd like to return the full bonus, and they said I missed hte 5minute window to cancel bets....and they're way too busy because of hte college football games starting at noon, they said to call back later.

Anyways- i'm pissed. They ARE dodgy as hell.

My plan now I guess, is to wager- $200 over a bunch of games on Saturday and Sundays, and $100 during hte week. So $500 a week for 10 weeks to play this [censored] off. That sucks. I'll be lucky to get my original $1k back. I just wanted to signup to enjoy making bets here and there when I feel like it. Now I'm forced to play all the time. [censored].

I'm still hoping to get out of this somehow. I'm really pissed. Don't join BETUS!!!
When i complained they said I agreed to it, but i said they weren't clear with the restriction. It seemed like I would have to play $5k to release the bonus...understandable. But not $5k to get my own money back. WTF.

Some of the specific stuff you mention (money locked in till wagering requirement met, getting short shrift from a book when they're busy and/or after you've placed a bet) are pretty standard and even A+ books will do that to you.

But, most books will often let you sacrifice the bonus and withdraw, although (and I am not sure about how standard this is) I have heard that playing through your deposit 1x before withdrawing is the like minimum. I personally have deposited and withdrawn without playing at all, but I have only done it once and I have heard of people having problems when doing it.

I'm not sure whether BETUS when it's not football Saturday will let you forfeit the bonus and cashout your money or if they have some min playthrough or even have a rule that says you can't take a payout until you clear the bonus (which would suck). I did this a couple of times when I was first getting started; put money in, got cold feet, and cashed it out sacrificing the bonus, but I think this is probably an individual book thing.

stay away from betus. if you win they will not pay you. they will increase the bonus terms on you if you start to win also. they owe a guy $14k but refuse to pay him and will only settle at giving him $10k. if you want to read more about them go to sportsbookreview.com and see why you should stay away.

Try to find a middle with pinnacle (or bodog i guess, although doubtful). Set it up so you're risking all your dough at BetUS, and pray to the heavens that the bet at BetUS loses. If you win your bet at BetUs, then lather, rinse, and repeat until you either clear the 5x requirement or bust out.

With respect, this is how you end up with a huge bonus in a terrible book and cry about not getting paid. If I have money in a book that I am scared will not pay me, I am playing to keep my maximum balance there as low as possible. If you are concerned that they won't pay you, you are doing little more than martingaling at Pinnacle because you don't know whether you have lost the money or not if it goes into the dodgy book.

Personally, I'd rather take longer and do $200 (even if it means 25 bets b/c I'm never down 5 units) scalps to keep my downside down. By no means am I going to risk getting much more than the $1000 I put in into a book I don't trust.

Edit: In this specific situation I might take 1 shot at a $1000 bet, I'm not sure, but I would definitely shut down if it won.
