Is this a fold against a strong opponent?
SB is reasonably tight and I've not seen him make any unconventional plays. Best case scenario he's got a hand like the same straight draw with me plus the nut flush draw, but this felt like my straight outs weren't very live.

Re: Is this a fold against a strong opponent?
I would shove now, raising is a mistake if you are planning to fold to a 3 bet.

Re: Is this a fold against a strong opponent?
Even against JhTh96 your equity is 0.39 and against 9h7h76 it's 0.364.
There's $280 sitting in the pot, it'll cost you $140 to call and SB only has $13 left over. The equity you need to justify a push is : (140+13)/(280+140+13+13) = 153/446 = 0.343 In terms of EV = .364*446 - 153 = +9 This is the WORST case scenario. Against 69xx with a flush draw youe equity is closer to 0.45 and your EV is +48. |

Re: Is this a fold against a strong opponent?
You got the answer from your reraise, fold. I'd just call on the flop tho.

Re: Is this a fold against a strong opponent?
If you're going to play this hand, you can't fold this flop ever.
If you can't shove after SB 3-bets, then just call the flop (BB is giving you some overlay), but I think pushing is better. Tom |

Re: Is this a fold against a strong opponent?
after raising, you have to go to the felt. (a call on the flop is not bad here.)

Re: Is this a fold against a strong opponent?
I'd say "I can't believe any of you would fold", but then I thought about all the weak-tight nits I've sat with, and realized "oh yeah... those guys would fold."
Poooooooooooooooooooosh! (or just call instead of raising.) |
