Re: Tmrw morning....
I find it fascinating from a historical perspective. I have been watching MSNBC's coverage all morning. I was living in the District at the time and I think it is interesting to hear the rumors reported as fact:
"There is a large fire on the National Mall" "A car bomb went off at the State Department" "There is another plane incoming" |

Re: Tmrw morning....
[ QUOTE ]
I don't live in NY, nor have I lost anyone, or know of anyone who lost anyone on that day. But I am listening to the msnbc rebroadcast, and it's very hard not to get emotional about it. I'm actually suprised how much it's affecting me today. [/ QUOTE ] It's weird / interesting how it affects people differently, whether or not you lived in NYC/ DC knew people etc. As I mentioned, it seemed like in SF, most people just kind of got back to their normal lives within a month or so. "I get nauseous when I see images of the tower on fire and i always noticeably cringe when i see the clips of the planes flying into the towers very unnerving" Quote from my buddy who's lived in CA all his life... though he has a good amount of friends who were in NYC at the time. I also know of another guy, a very successful dude, great life... who had never lived in NY and didn't really know anyone involved in WTC, who had a nervous breakdown cause of it, just like, completely lost it. -Al |

Re: Tmrw morning....
I find the coverage of 9/11/2001 to be extremely powerful and disturbing. I have no deep connection to NYC except for a girlfriend in the Bronx and being a resident of New York State myself.
I'm glad I watched this morning. I relived the feelings of shock, the gruesome human tragedy of watching lives lost in real-time, and the pangs of anger. Just imagining the planning required to execute this attack, and how deeply disturbed these individuals were to carry out something like this. Something at the expense of their own lives, just to hurt American citizens who were no more culpable in any of the grivances they had than they themselves were. And to imagine the horror of those on the hijacked planes, or within the buildings...it's the plot of a truly terrible horror/thriller movie played out before your eyes. The whole "never forget" thing is a bit cheesy and cliche, but it gives me the creeps a little bit to know that there are people who are willing and ready to sacrifice their lives to kill _me_. They want to kill me, and I don't even know them. Strange, right? |

Re: Tmrw morning....

Did they EVER get the story right? [/ QUOTE ] Close enough, to where the general facts are there and accurate. I was at Ground Zero yesterday, you want to know what i saw? A whole group of people claiming 9/11 was an inside job. I was sick to my stomach, not only are those people so incrediblly wrong they choose to spread there message on that day in downtown manhattan,, [censored] em. If i wasnt there in memory of some friends and if it wasnt 9/11 I do not know if I would have been able to contain myself. Please step back, stop being a concpiracy theorist (because i guarantee that 95% of these people believe in the same junk about other stories) step back and look at the facts. If you look at it objectivly, I do not understand how one could come to another conclusion. |
