The "big game" is actually way smaller than they play online, because they play a ton of tables online and pay 10X hands per hour. Guys like Antonius put way way more money in play than they do in the big game.

The winrates of the best online players are now probably somewhat higher than the winrates of the best "big game" players. But the variance in that game is still much greater, so the guys who play it can still brag about their bigger balls.

this is a good point that i hoped someone would bring up in this thread. even though many 2p2ers will/already have the bankroll for this game, will any of them have the gamble/balls/ego to play in that game. a player like schneids for example will probably have, or already is bankrolled for this game (i have no idea what his br is) but i very much doubt he would ever sit down at a table to "prove," if you will, his skill or to establish himself as one of the best players in the world.

the nature of 2p2 discourages playing to prove to other people how good you are, which is probably why most people play in the big game. (daniel negreanu comes to mind)
