200NL, 1/2, 6max
I have around 200 hands on Villain and I view him as TAG. Effective stacks 200$.
Villain is UTG and raises to 8$, Hero is on the button with pocket jacks. Hero calls flop: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Villain bets 12$, Hero calls turn: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Villain bets 36$, Hero calls river: K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Villain bets 62$ Hero folds |

I think you're beat one way or another there but maybe that's just the weak tighty in me talking.

Re: 200NL, 1/2, 6max
So it is a clear fold on river?
As he was TAG raising from UTG I thought I would see a flop cheap and then try to keep the pot fairly small. But I to think I need to raise somewhere in the hand, the question is where. If I reraise preflop villain will either call which I am not to happy about (but I will lessen his hand range) or raise me which I would hate or he might fold which I dont want either. So I prefer calling here, atleast most of the times. The flop, he bets about half the pot which seems fairly weak, if I raise he will almost only call with hands that beat me or fold hands that I am a head of or raise hands that beat me. But if I just call I am giving him a free shot to drawout on me. I am not sure what is the best line here. The turn he comes out betting strong, probably thinking I am fairly weak as I only called his half size pot flop bet on a two flush board. Should I have pushed here maybe? Tho I am not sure if I want to get it all in against a TAG here. The river, I believe I am beat here way to often to call? |

Re: 200NL, 1/2, 6max
I like a flop raise. You said you wanted to keep the pot small. Kind of hard when you don't have control over the hand. Raising the flop give you much more control over the action and you can manipulate him from there. If he is a tag, I imagine he will fold ak 10 10, and some suited connectors that didn't hit the flop, probably call with QQ raise KK and AA. And if he is tricky just call with 99.
As played a river fold is fine here, a strong river lead makes me think it's either AA KK AKdiamonds or 99 here I would say. |

OMG call the river, are you guys nuts [/ QUOTE ] Why exactly would we be calling the river? Most of the "TAGS" at this level aren't firing three barrels in my opinion. |
