Re: Stars 2/4 Flop top set, fold turn.
1 to 3.6
you close action getting 1 to 3.1.... so you need $92 in implied odds to call if you're always behind, which you're not.... easy call or whatever.... |

Re: Stars 2/4 Flop top set, fold turn.
youve got 10 outs to fill up which gives you 1 to 3.6.
you only get about 1 to 3.1 but taking implied odds into account this is an easy call. you only have to get in like 70ish on the river |

Re: Stars 2/4 Flop top set, fold turn.
bet 40-45 on flop.
Keiki, that assumes one of the villians has a flush 100% of the time (not the case). I think you can call. |

[/ QUOTE ] You could very easily be ahead here but this is never ever a fold. I'm not even sure how you can get away from a blank river if you call to be honest. I mean, you would think that a lower set or 2 pair would raise the flop but you have no reads and you see so much b/s and weird slow plays at this level that you are getting great odds to call off the rest of your stack on the river. I'd probably call - cash in if I hit a set - and lose the rest of my chips most of the time if I don't. In fact, if a non-diamond came up on the river and the SB checked I'd chuck the rest in. Then again, I am a complete tart. |

Re: Stars 2/4 Flop top set, fold turn.
Ew! Sorry, bro, but even if you're behind, you HAVE to call because you can easily get the required amount into the pot when you fill.
You're only like a 3.6:1 dog to fill on the river and you're getting 3.1:1 on your call of $144. That's only $72 you need to get in on the river to make the play +EV. By that time the pot is humongous and you'll EASILY get that in, if not much more. I suggest you study an odds chart and run a few implied odds simulations to get the hang of these concepts as they are VERY important. |
