Re: $33 - Scared away PF with JJ
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Do you cold call behind? If so, why? For set value? If that's the case, then what makes JJ better than 22 unless the board comes all low in which case you still don't really know if you're up against an overpair? [/ QUOTE ] If you had pushed pf you aren't getting an overpair to fold either... [/ QUOTE ] Yep, and what makes JJ better than 22 is the J52 flop, and possibility they're just donking it up with AK and so on. |

This is atrocious.
Calling and pushing are both fine. Ryan |

Re: $33 - Scared away PF with JJ
onaflag,
I'd recommend you push in this situation with JJ 100% of the time. I don't think you want to call and play multiway postflop from OOP. Yugoslav |

Re: $33 - Scared away PF with JJ
[ QUOTE ]
There is a strong possibility that I am being a pussy because I moved up in stakes. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] In the heat of the game I thought it was more than a 2x raise. [/ QUOTE ] I think youre not ready to move up levels if you dont realize that you folded JJ to a minraise. I also think that if youre playing at an appropriate level you won't experience "the heat of the battle." If the actual question is.. "How do i play JJ from the SB vs a call, minraise, and a CC from the CO with the stated stacks and blinds?" ...then i say either call and look for a J, or raise to isolate the minraiser and gain info on his holdings, and more info on UTG. Its still early, so i look for a set, or a favorable board. Additionally, I despise minraises, but one of the few times I use them is to guage the strength of a limper UTG. |
