Default Can you win if you\'re consistantly out lucked.

For the past week or so, I've had some horrible luck. If you have a 3 outer, you WILL beat me. If you have Q8 suited against AA, you win. I just don't understand how I'm catching very little and when I do, someone else has a boat or some more crap.

No.

I realize you're new, but there is a bad beats forum for this kind of thing. If you go there you might want to be more creative, though.

Every, and I mean EVERY player feels this way sometimes. Hurts, doesn't it? Get used to it, 'cause if you keep playing, it's going to happen again.

You know whats funny, when you win a big hand, you're only happy for a second.

Losing hands are rememebered for days.

There's some truth to that. But I'm also learning that I can determine whether or not I'm going to be negative in my outlook. It turns out there's a fine line between "whimsically cynical curmudgeon" and "someone people don't want to be around." I tend to err to the side of the latter in trying to aim for the former.

The run of bad beats WILL end. But make sure you're making every right decision you can find. Use this feeling as motivation to tease out some of the leaks in your game. That way, when fortune smiles on you again, your winning streak will be longer and more profitable than if you'd never improved your game.

Go buy GSIHE if you don't have it. Take a day off from poker and read the last section. Even if it's stuff you already know, Ed's writing will give new life to those concepts about variance and running bad.

AA wins over Q8s most of the times.
When you do lose it's just variance and there is nothing anyone can do about that.

I know it sucks when it keeps happening but just hang in there, it'll even out.

Can you win if you're consistantly outlucked? No.

Good thing you can't be consistantly outlucked.
