Re: How do you play the river here?
Easy bet when you werent raised on the turn. Turn action would have been a better question.

I assume you are letting this go to a turn or river c/r?

Results in white below: UTG has Td Kh (one pair, tens). MP2 has 2c Kc (high card, king). Hero has Ac Ad (one pair, aces). Outcome: Hero wins 8.25 BB. |

I don't have any problems with how you played this hand. The flop and turn is ugly for two aces but no one at the table is telling you they have the straight. Hmmm tough to play these Overpair hands on co-ordinated boards when no one is speaking back. Since the river probably didn't help anyone I bet call it. |

Re: How do you play the river here?
I am curious about situations like this.... when you bet this river...... (I assume you fold to a c/r?) does the amount of time an idiot calls with nothing (or pays us off with a reasonable hand we beat) outweigh the amount of time you get called and lose or get c/r?
if so, is there an equation that can demonstrate this. |

Re: How do you play the river here?
This may be crap.... but I don't fold pocket aces in this situation when I am in learn mode. It's a pretty small mistake in pots that have some size but in this situation there are 8 cards that beat you. So consider it a reverse draw meaning you are a 5 to 1 underdog to a c/r here that represents a straight.....combine that with the no reraise on the turn and the fact that a 3 probably is a blank.. I say its a pretty good bet/call situation.

I am curious about situations like this.... when you bet this river...... (I assume you fold to a c/r?) [/ QUOTE ] Without reads, it's a tough decision. Most fish will raise the turn because they fear that you won't bet the river for them. [ QUOTE ] does the amount of time an idiot calls with nothing (or pays us off with a reasonable hand we beat) outweigh the amount of time you get called and lose or get c/r? [/ QUOTE ] In my limited experience, yes it does. A lot of fish assume that a PF raise is AK and that their small pair is good. Think of it like this. They called to the river with a pair. They're not drawing except to a str8 or flush. They have sometimes won a pot against a TAG who has whiffed with AK. They didn't call to the river just to fold their pair when they got there. [ QUOTE ] if so, is there an equation that can demonstrate this. [/ QUOTE ] Yes. F+M=Ep where: F=fool M=money Ep=easily parted |

Yes. F+M=Ep where: F=fool M=money Ep=easily parted [/ QUOTE ] I guess I give villains a lot of credit then, cause I cannot see us getting called in situations like this unless we are beat, although like I said, I have seen donk calls here many times before. you think I would be getting used to free money by now. |
