$40 is too small and screams, i just filled up but want to keep milking you. what hands would you continue to bet on this board besides a made flush or full house?

I should have included this in the OP, but villian is a regular smart/thinking TAG. He knows that I am a LAG and will fire multiple barrels at whiffed boards, but that I also have the ability to lay down very big hands.

Keeping this is mind, I figured that a small bet like $45 was going to be a little transparent so instead I bet pot. He timed out and folded. I think that $60-75 is a good standard bet here.

Thanks for the input

The goal here is to get as much money from the villain as possible. Sometimes transparent bets are much more likely to get called. It's not always about being as deceitful as possible, it's often just about making a +EV play that will win you the most cash. $40 is extremely callable (if that's a word), and you have to bet an amount here that can easily be called. While 75-90 might be opaque, it's hard to call if you're on a draw (which villain probably is). You want the opponent to stay in the hand, not fold, regardless of how potentially obvious you make it that you're strong.

Also, since he's a TAG, he's more likely to fold to a large bet. In addition, you being a LAG makes a small bet seem a little fishy and he may just call on principle and try to bust you if he hits (thinking that he has plenty of implied odds since you're so loose).

I could be wrong because I am drinking heavily at this moment, but I still think 40ish is a reasonable play.

I fully understand that we are trying to extract as much value as possible out of a hand. My thought process layed solely on the idea of making him raise my turn bet, whether he had a monster or a weak hand. I figured if I made my bet look very strong, he might get creative to try and push me off my hand with a big draw or jack, or (even better) raise with a flush/lower full house. Next time I bet $70 and expect this situation often.

I really don't play enough and when I go on breaks I really screw up hands. I really feel like I lost a ton of value on this hand by betting pot and not $15-20 less.
