You bet. If someone has a Q or 2 pair, they'll let you know.

So? No one bet or check/raised the turn. The turn doesn't/shouldn't scare you.

yeah, so there's a str8 draw on the board. I'd expect to be c/r'd on the turn if they had the str8 almost 100% of the time. For me, the river's an easy bet.

No, it's not a trick question. Just a stupid question from a stupid newbie who went braindead. I almost didn't post this hand because I knew what everyone would say. But a little dose of public humilation will burn this lesson into my pea-sized brain and as such it won't be forgotten again.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I've just "enjoyed" a night of bad beats with AA and KK, so my comments may be coloured a bit.

Pre-flop: standard.
Flop: Shitty flop, bet still standard.
Turn: Puke. I'm checking here. As you played it, you seem to escape unschathed!
River: Standard bet. If anyone has been slowplaying a straight, make a note and move on (after managing not to destroy any computer equipment).

~grunchy goodness~

It's hard to make reads from people just calling any action.
IMO, pre-flop and flop are solid plays.
Turn card is just ugly. Now you've got four to a straight and two clubs... I probably still be it here. If I got fired back at though, I'm folding.
The river is a safe card. No club, and really doesn't help most hands you're facing. I'd probably just check though, fearing someone being timid with their bottom end of the straight, or maybe a twopair/set fearing the straight. The pot isn't that big. Make sure to take notes after that one!

~postgrunch~

Okay, virtually everyone says bet the river. That's why I'm still a dumb rookie. Do most people find that c-r's come on the turn?
