Default rakeback vrs. bonuswhoring...

I'm sure this question has been asked a million times but which is more profitable, rakeback or bonuswhoring? I generally 4 table 2/4 whereever I play which doesn't clear the bonuses that quickly but isn't there a relationship between bonuses and rake already? I just need someone to relay the math that is already at work.

Thanks in advance.

You can actually do both. There is no cost in getting rakeback so when you are signing up for a poker site always try to get rakeback in addition to clearing all of your bonuses. Even if your grosse rake is negative it will never cost you the player anything.

Yes but for example I play on Absolute and receive bonuses from them on almost a bi-weekly basis. I unlock them by 4-tabling 200 nl. I would love to recieve rakeback from Absolute but I am wondering if the bonuses will be minused from my overall rakeback. I am just confused in that respect.

At Absolute, bonuses are not deducted from your MGR (the number used to determine your rakeback). At most other sites, they are. Nonetheless, bonus+rb is still better than one alone.

For example, lets say you generate $500 in rake and get 30% rakeback, for $150. Now let's say you cleared a $100 bonus as well, which counts against your rake. So you only generated $400 in rake, x 30% = $120 rb. So even when the bonus counts against your rb, you still net $120+$100 = $220, better than rb alone or bonus alone.
