This is actually a $20 limit SNG, but since the SNG section deals exclusively with NL SNGs, I figured I'd post it here.
Limper has't played a pot yet, so I read him as pretty tight. Level 2, blinds 15/30. PF, hero is MP1 with KK, 1 limper. Hero raises, MP2 3 bets, MP 3 calls, limper calls, hero raises, everyone calls. Flop: K, 6, 8. limper bets, hero raises, mp2 calls, mp3 folds, limper calls. Turn: 8. limper checks, hero bets, mp2 calls, limper raises, hero 3 bets, mp2 folds, limper caps, hero calls. River: x. limper bets, hero calls. How's the river? |

I'd cap this river without thinking twice. That is, unless the river x was an 8. I'd do this in cash games and tournaments.
Sometimes you'll lose to the pocket 8s, but more likely the limper has K8 or 66 or even 6 8. He might even have much less. |

One other thing that may or may not be relevant: I had already won a pot shoing down KK.

why? [/ QUOTE ] You have the second nuts. I can think of a bunch of hands that you beat that play this way and only one that you don't beat. Cap the river. If there were no cap I'd go like 7 or 8 bets. |

Gotta raise that, eh?
I mean, yeah, he might have 88, but its much more likely he's got A8 or K8 or 86s or 66. Did he hit a flush and is pushing it into a paired board? I gotta think you're ahead of his range. Maybe you can call his 3-bet, but with top house I'm going all the way. $0.02. |

Are you really that afraid of quads? If you are then you better have more of a read then watching for 15 to 20 minutes in the first level or two of a limit SNG. Otherwise just raise for the extreme value here, only hand that beats you would be 88 unless the river makes a possible straight flush or a 6 to make quad 6s possible. You will have the best hand almost 99% of the time, punnish the possible AK, K8, K6, 86 or even AA. Remember folding for 15 min could just be cold cards.

You've got to be kidding me. At least let him 3-bet your before you put him on specifically 88. Cap.
