Default 11\'s AA slow play part 1

button lost a big hand for most of his stack in the last hand and is probably steaming. my read here is that his money is going in this pot about 75% of the time. if you don't believe that then just disregard. I'm not interested in getting heads up with him for 111 chips. Also, if he or anyone else raises then i am going to poooooosh.

so he does get it in and im thinking i will push. but then I probably make the error of minraising to get a little bit more in on the flop.

Yuck. I'm never limping here. Open-pushing is best, but if the table is particularlly passive, I'd raise to 250-300.

I'd limp only if the bigstacks have been raising a lot, otherwise raise it up, 250. As for the flop, its a push

Yeah, no reason to try and get cute. Just put your chips in a pray for a call. What I dont understand is why you were allowed to re-raise. Doesn't the the short stacked players all in fall short of the min. raise? Shouldn't he be forced to only call or fold here? And isn't this just a glorified "look at my quad aces post?" You made a terrible play and were fortunate that things went your way...

Open-pushing? Seems like that's giving away a lot of value. There are a whole bunch of hands that probably would not call an 11 BB push from UTG, but might well call a raise to t300. And you're crushing all of them. Big pairs and AK/AQ are usually going to reraise you anyway, so why not give your opponents a chance to hang themselves with AJ/KQs/whatever? I think I'd usually push AK/AQ/JJ here, and try to get some value out of QQ+.

no, the turn and the river have nothing to do with it.
im looking for reasons why this play is terrbile please...

for example, why is getting more people and more chips into the pot bad when i have the best starting hand?

the blinds are moving up soon... is it ok to take the risk of getting out in order to try and double or triple up?

a different way to get more in the pot that isnt pushing?

I'd agree with you 100% at a sng >$22, but at an $11 people are waiting to call with big aces and nearly any pair.

OK, I thought about that after I posted. Fair enough. Nothing wrong with playing to your opponents' weaknesses, although I like making the more generally solid play here if OP has any intention of moving up.

as played, would you then push once the option comes back to you?

and... if you raised it to 250-300.... push any flop?
