earlier in this match i've taken this line twice: raise pf, cbet 2/3pot on the flop and check behind on the turn. each time he blew me off my hand (ace high both times) on the river with a large (little less than pot-size) bet on the river.

Seems like a very easy call in my opinion. Your probably good here more than 3/4 of the time.

I feel like the best hand he's going to have here is a bare ace or possibly a JT/J8 that made two pair on the turn or river, but I really don't seem him taking this line with AJ/A8/AT and especially not with KQ, so I think I would call here.

Also, based on what you said about him getting you to fold the other two hands, it sounds even more like he wouldn't do this with a big hand since you haven't been calling all match.

I agree. He's either got a strong hand or a total bluff. More likely a strong hand. But you can beat many of his "strong hands" with your aces up here. I'd expect to see Jacks up here most of the time, with an occasional straight, A8, or bluff thrown in. I'd call.

I think in this situation you have to call, especially given your history. He played the hand very wildly and its possible he has some weird gutshot. The hands I'm most worried about are higher aces, but the chances he has that is cancelled by the possibilities of a lower two pair. What'd he have?

That's a tough ending, but I still think the call was good. He's not always going to have KQ or better there IMO.
