I know we dont fold sets but...............

I never fold sets on the flop but this is such a craptacular flop that it has me thinking.

reads:
button is super aggro, likes to pot,pot,pot. I havent seen him show anything down yet and this is the first hand i hit against him. He's been running me over so I just called the flop hoping to c/r all in on a safe turn.

BB is pretty nitty, saw him flop a nut straight and slow play it until the river.

Easy push. If villain was super nitty or super passive you could maaaaaybe find a fold. I think your best bet is just to push this all the time against anyone though.

BTW, either lead or check/raise, but check/call is bad.

Let's think about this for a moment. Would BB raise an over-aggro gorilla holding a straight here? I highly doubt it...it's the least profitable line, unless he's that affraid of a FD. How well does BB play? If he's anything less than average, I think a push is good.

I still like pushing here regardless because we're no worse than 30% to boat up (I believe this holds true even if we're 3 handed)...or it's pretty damn close.

the reason i didnt lead flop was i was very sure button was going to bet pot, leading might make him fold. Maybe I should've c/r flop but the BB raise was very shocking to me.

This shouldn't matter, you're playing this pot 3 handed.

Wow, you really need to lead out on the flop for pot and hope he raises and then 3-bet him all in. You are ahead of his range and you need to push him off his draw/price him out to make his draw unprofitable. If he has a straight, meh, you have outs.

ok, i agree leading out was a better play but by not leading out we found out BB has monster after he check raised a bet and a call. He's a nit so I dont think he would raise with JT or flush draw. Still standard to push?
