Default High Stakes, Taking Shots

I'm interested in how the high stakes posters on this forum became high stakes players in the first place. I've often read stories about them taking shots, (sometimes above their bankroll), running hot, and never looking back.

It led me to ask... how often can this be expected to happen. Assuming that their level of play is up to the task (say 1BB/100 for LHE), how often could one take, say, a 10BB shot at a high limit and not go bust over the course of 25,000 hands. (Assuming no money is ever taken out or put back in). I'm thinking this is a less than 20% occurance. How about a 25BB shot? What methods could be used to solve this?

I imagine the chances of doing this would be a little bit better than the amount of money allotted divided by the necessary bankroll for the game. So a 10BB shot in a game that needs a 500BB bankroll you would have a slightly better than 2% chance of going infinite.
